Crafty Foxes Making Bunting
There were just four of us Crafty Foxes this week, due to the Easter Holidays, but we had a lovely couple of hours making a start on bunting for the village hall. We thought it would be nice for flags to be decorated by each of us, using lots of different mediums and styles, and then sewn together with other patterned material, once we've measured up. It's going to be an ongoing thing, and might well take us quite a while to finish - but it'll look lovely when it's done.
If you fancy decorating a flag or two in between meetings, just get in touch and we can either get you some flags, or give you the dimensions.
We had a quick chat about the events we've got coming up, that we need to start organising.
The Village hall's 'Big Hello' is the next event in our calendar - Sunday 24th April. We're having a stall to promote our WI and try and recruit more members! The event will run from 2-4pm, and we will be able to set up from 1pm and clear up until 5pm. We will need some volunteers to man this stall - so that we can talk to lots of visitors and tell them how fantastic our WI is!
Our Quiz night is also coming up fast - Friday 6th May. We will need lots of volunteers for this - to man the bar, help prepare food, set up and clear down, bake cakes, round up raffle prizes. If you can help with anything at all, please get in touch.
Our next meeting is Wednesday, 20th April, 7.45 at the Village Hall as usual. Our speaker this month is Soo Choy, who runs an accessories business and is going to show us how to wear scarves and long necklaces - different ways of tying them, what to wear to suit different necklines and occasions, etc. Don't miss it!
Here's our start on the bunting so far - what do you think?
